This subproject aims at the generation and characterization of animal model systems for future pharmacological studies for establishing novel therapies interfering with prostate cancer progression. To this end, we will generate, phenotype, and perform a detailed molecular characterization of transgenic or knockout prostate cancer mouse models. Construction and phenotyping of mouse models will be performed by Taconic (Köln, Germany) and the German Mouse Clinics (Neuherberg, Germany), respectively.
In addition, we will perform nude mouse xenografts experiments with prostate cancer cell lines transfected with highly prioritized genes.
